What are the latest trends in concept architecture?
Biophilic • healthy living • organic design • sustainability
Working with a leading Investor Nomad is creating a new concept in Biophilic organic integration. Biophilia (meaning love of nature) focuses on human’s innate attraction to nature and natural processes. It suggests that we all have a genetic connection to the natural world built up through hundreds of thousands of years of living in agrarian. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biophilic_design
WHY BIOPHILIC DESIGN?
Living and working in a natural environment has been shown by the World Health Organisation to help improve one’s state of mind and therefore relieving tension and stress. Mental health disorders and heart related diseases are increasing and this is partially attributed to our environments. We have always endeavoured to include organic elements in to our designs and favoured wood as both a sustainable and appropriate material for building. We gave Gibraltar the first Cross laminated timber building “Trinity House” a three storey office building with green roof built from structural timber.
We are now developing a major project that goes even further – biophilic integrated living – with urban farm, internal organic structures and 30% increase in carbon absorption through organic design. Overhanging terraces and less heat absorption resulting in a much more sustainable and healthy environment. Watch this space, architecture is changing.
