Born in Leuven (Belgium), Sandrine studied Interior Design in Brussels, in addition to having a Diploma in Tourism, standing out in the organization of events.

She is passionate about history and urban architecture, studying in depth the work of Leopold II, the king’s builder of Belgium.

Sandrine’s personality in a word? ORGANISATION!

This lead her for many years dedicating herself to organising events, weddings, fairs etc until 2003 when she took time out to start a family.

It is today where her organisation is best appreciated, allowing her to be mother of three girls and working full time. With more than 10 years of experience in Spain, she started as interior designer for numerous real estate agencies and later as Project Manager for an interior designer of Marbella.

Sandrine starts, runs and closes all of Nomad’s interior design projects,  supervising contracts, works and suppliers.

In her spare time, she is a mother, a wife, and a fabulous trained dancer (which she won’t say herself!). She loves racket sports and never says “no” to a plan with family or friends, because as a good organiser, she takes time for everything.

Shawn Sullivan

Born to a family of builders with a skilled carpenter as a father, it wasn’t long before he gained an enthusiasm for building and designing. From a young age Shawn has been a keen artist in watercolour and sketching, often taking a sketch book with him rather than a camera to capture the emotion of a space.

Working previously in Wales designing public buildings and high end residential projects, he turned his attentions to complete projects and built his first house for himself in 1999, designing and building virtually all elements of the structure and finishes. These types of project have given Shawn the insight that designers rarely get by developing a hands-on understanding of materials and their appropriateness to challenging locations. The knowledge of how materials are formed, used and assembled is so important to creating realistic spaces that can be built.

Enjoying sport, Shawn is always up at 6.30 for the gym each day, followed by a long cycle before work and after. You can usually find him on the weekends sailing, surfing and working on his classic Land Rovers.

He loves diversity, interesting approaches and nature. Often you will find him pushing his limits in extensive garden landscaping.

Luna Solas

Luna Solas has a broad professional experience in architecture, landscape, garden design, public space and urban mobility. She studied in Seville (Spain) and in Eindhoven (The Netherlands).

While in The Netherlands, she learned to see life with the eyes of a landscape architect; understood about how people move in the city and developed her intention to use curves and colours in her designs. In Costa del Sol, she has been working at sustainable urban mobility concepts and improvement of public spaces. And now, being part of Nomads team, her working approach lives at the intersection of the disciplines mentioned above.

She understands and appreciates how important is the use of colours, nature, quality materials and light to provide a sense of confort and welbeing to each project. So, while designing, she focus on how people feel the space.

In her free time she goes away from the computer screen and enjoy daily activities from Marbella to Tarifa, where she has learned to kite thanks to the Gisela Pulido Pro Center School, a school runned by a passionate team that love what they do. So does Luna.  Other things that she loves are: tranquility, tai chi rainbow, nature and the sea.

Kristel Hanssen

Born in Belgium, Kristel’s family moved to Southern Spain when she was only 11 years old.  Always passionate about drawing, designing and creating art. She studied Bachillerato artistico in Malaga city. Following these studies up with a ‘Ciclo Formativo de Grado superior y Direccion de Obras de Decoracion’ .

She worked several years for well know architectural studios along the Costa del Sol before joining Nomad in 2007. She combines her interior design and architecture to create beautiful, and clever environments. She is daring and not afraid to show her sometimes unconventional approach in her projects.

Kristel has bags of enthusiasm, technical know-how and fresh design ideas for any project, she is a design problem solver who spends half her time on the phone checking that contractors have done what she asked!

Gema Rodríguez

Gema is our “Artistic” architect and accomplished landscape designer who graduated from the High Technical School of Architecture in Seville. Working in architectural competitions, large landscape projects and housing design, she has also been a part-time teacher developing artistic and imaginative projects with her students.

She has worked for Nomad since 2018 and is based in Denmark.

Recently she has been writing her master thesis on sustainability measures to create green cities in the Metropolitan area of Copenhagen. Developing working approaches between academic research and design to improve city life by integrating green areas.

Gema is an artist, that has the ability to incorporate her vision in to her projects and enjoys painting and drawing in her free time and is now gaining great inspiration from the Danish landscape.

Her favourite objects: “the bicycle and backpack”, allowing her to escape to nature, giving her a strong feeling of independence.

Imanol García de Albéniz

• Associate Architect

He is born in 1975 in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Alava). In 1999 he finishes his architectural studies at the University of Navarra. In 2005 he got a Doctorated Degree and worked for 6 years as associated professor. He has working experience in Italy, Spain and the UK. He is currently the Head Director of TCGA Architects in Algeciras, the South of Spain.

Alicia Bravo del Valle

She knew that her life pointed to architecture since she was a child. She liked drawing and reproducing spaces of her daily environment: a door detail, a piece of furniture from the living room, the autumn colours of a dry leaf.

Alicia studied architecture at High Technical School of Architecture in Seville, where, in addition to the artistic side of the profession, she concerned about building structures and systems and materials.

She joined Nomad in 2016 and showed an interest in organic and colourful architecture, She became a 3D designer “artist”, specialised in concept architecture. Proportions, lighting and warm ambiences recreation are some of the concepts she usually works on.

She considers essential being organised and finds her life balance with activities like dancing – she’s attending classical ballet classes, it’s never too late – reading and cooking.

Some of Alicia’s favourite things are: spending time with her family, travelling and a tasty meal, especially the sweets.
